I’m sure you’ve heard this age-old saying before… However so many people are still expecting to get without giving anything! This is mind boggling to me!
We want something to so much, usually from another person. Whether that to be closer to a family member, or a colleague, to make a sale or simply to want to be understood.
When you reach out and initiate, however it is you want to be loved, cared for, communicated with or even valued, you will start to understand how others also want the same.
Raising your game in what you give and how you give, will give your getting a boost!
I’ve seen professionals gain deeper connections with their teams, sales people overachieving on their quotas, families immersing themselves into a new found reach of love and care.
You’ll become aligned. You’ll be surprised at how deep your connections can become if you start giving to them rather than focusing on what you don’t have or what your not...
Have you heard of the looking glass theory? This theory claims that throughout our self-development we will become what people tell us we are.
You may know of, or even been the “dumb kid at school who wont amount to anything” or so the teacher said. But then the teacher turned out to be right… the kid grew up and proved the teacher right.
This happening to us ALL the time, even as adults, no doubt you’ve experienced this.
When you tell someone they look tired, they will feel tired.
When you tell someone they look like they’ve lost weight they will feel like they’ve lost weight.
When you tell someone they look amazing, the will feel amazing!
Unless you are in control of your own perceptions, which most people are not, this will affect you.
Consider the impact you are having on others because whether you have been aware of it or not this is happening and it’s happening to you!
Be sure to be aware of it so you know what to accept and...
Enforcing boundaries is one of my favourite topics, purely because I know first hand how it impacts the quality of life.
Would you like to be more productive?
Would you like to be more connected to your intuition?
Would you like to have more time for the things that matter?
Would you like to have more energy?
Would you like to become consistent?
Would you like to overcome procrastination?
These are just a few of the things you will gain by putting some parameters in place. There is nothing wrong with having boundaries. It seems to have such a negative connotation through fear of missing out yet it is such a positive and empowering action to take.
Decide what boundaries you could put into play which will promote the highest version of you. This could be as simple as turning your phone off on weekends, or not taking work home with you as examples.
Tell your colleagues and loved ones what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, let them know with, love, care and ...
What if I told you 80% of your self-initiated motivation comes from your deepest core values? It comes from the elements we deem to be the most important to us.
Our values drive our behaviours, our desires and our ability to take action. If you’re feeling unmotivated it is likely you are not in alignment with your own values.
Don’t worry, the majority of people have never taken the time to consider what their values are. But what I can tell you is that it is worth putting in the work to understand yours because the return on investment is priceless.
You will become more motivated, have more clarity, and even enjoy the process of achieving the desired outcome.
It’s important to understand we hold values for every context of our life.
In the context of our relationships we may value:
In the context of health and fitness we may value:
When you identify...
This quick video is made for YOU because you are simply an incredible human being... I really hope you know that.
I want to encourage you to open your eyes to yourself…
To remind you that you have everything you need already within you.
Stop looking outside for the answers.
Yes – Look for the tools and guidance to get what you may need to get there but hold it there.
We have this tendency to look outside of ourselves and trick ourselves into thinking we don’t have the answers.
This is natural as we are tribal my nature, as human beings we love to be around people, we long to be connected. This is fantastic is most cases, however our society has lost it’s ability to turn inwardly when it counts the most.
Refrain from looking at others opinions.
Be sure take insights from quality sources you value.
Be sure to give yourself the opportunity to grow from within when it really matters.
Most of all, trust your own answers, trust your intuition.
Ever felt like you’re too far gone in one direction to make a shift or even too old to make a bold change?
There was a prospective entrepreneur in his late 50’s and asking questions like “Do you think I should start my own business? Is it too late for me?” He was suffering with this internal conflict, purely because he couldn’t believe it was still possible.
Yet this man had almost 60 years of experience, knowledge and skill like no other and it was still in question. He had so much to share and to contribute to the world and finally decided to go for it. He had to realize and overcome the idea that he still had decades ahead of him where he could leave his legacy.
This simple Mindshift is sometime all we really need. Think about your transformation in a new light and see what you can accomplish.
There was recently a entrepreneur in the news because she launched her business and become multi-millionaire – at the age of 78years!
Is your mind going on overdrive? You even wake up exhausted because you couldn’t switch off? Have you ever wanted to just stop thinking?
Well, there is a BIG misunderstanding when it comes to thoughts. Many believe we can stop thinking, but we can’t. Our thoughts are there on repeat every single day and every single night. They will always be there, however you can learn how to manage them.
You can accept they your mind is busy and do something about it. You can learn to slow down your thoughts...
Imagine your mind is like a busy highway, and your thoughts are just the traffic flowing through.
Now imagine a nice, slow country road, where traffic only comes through once in a while.
Allow your thoughts to come and go.
This will allow you to choose which thoughts to entertain and which ones to dissolve. Now your thoughts are moving slower, you can identify the ones you wanted to stop and deal with them when you’re ready by letting them go.
How is your relationship with your emotions? Do you accept them? Do you ignore them? Are you even aware of them?
I work with a lot of people and its not uncommon for them to not be able to identify with their emotions.
For example, assuming that anxiety, stress or even depression are emotions. These are states NOT emotions.
Emotions are the underlying factor, which leads to those states. For example, fear, hurt, anger, guilt, sadness, shame, to name the most common ones. These are emotions.
Emotions are simply energy in motion (this is where the word emotion derives itself).
When we have this energy inside of our bodies and we aren’t aware of them, they start to add up. Our body becomes more and more full of this toxic energy. This is when undesirable states (as mentioned above) show up.
Built up energy like this leads to emotional and physical pain, as well as unhealthy behaviors which will affect your overall wellbeing, inclusive of family, relationships,...
Have you ever believed something to be true and later found out it wasn’t? For example, the love of your life was actually just your first partner, not the love of your life? Or you felt someone was ‘just nice’ until you realized they were absolutely friggin’ amazing?! We believe these things without any given proof, we simply buy into it.
Our foundation of being is built upon a few key areas, one of which is our belief system. The funny thing about beliefs is that most people have never really consciously chosen them. It’s a combination of learnings we have collected over time.
Do you have any beliefs that you don’t like? Or any beliefs than stop you from achieving something? Such as…
I have low self-esteem.
I am too fat
I am not good enough
I will never be loved
Everyone is out to get me
I can’t catch a break
I am terrible with money
Well, just play with me here…
Imagine if your chosen belief wasn’t true?!
Check out this quick video I made for you on the question I get asked ALL the time!
Are You Not Tired? This is the question I get asked the most! I find it so interesting as there is a suggestion within the question that I should be.
The question usually comes when they know how intense my workload and my high levels of productivity are; yet I still show up like an overflowing ball of energy.
I don’t share this with you to impress you regarding my own energy levels, I share it to impress upon you that you can have an abundance of high energy too, if you want it.
Tired has become the new normal. I hear people walking around saying how tired they are, and sometimes they genuinely are and they need a rest! Yet most of the time they have convinced themselves they are tired because they are stuck in the habit of thinking they’re tired…. You know how the saying goes… What we think – we become.
Create your own robust system around your energy.
